Ingrid Riley is a Digital Media Entrepreneur, a Caribbean Tech Maven, Award-Winning Tech Blogger, Podcaster, Event Producer and been a Digital Nomad since 2007.
She’s behind SiliconCaribe -the trailblazing brand, that kickstarted the Tech Startup Scene in Jamaica, and that’s been helping to build the Caribbean Tech Ecosystem and drive Digital Caribbean.
For her work, she received both the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) 50Under50 Business Leader + TechLink Game Changer Awards.
Ingrid is the CEO of Rebel Grrl Media – a digital content and events brand focused on disrupting old Caribbean narratives, by creating and distributing digital content and experiences that reflect what she calls the New Caribbean emerging – that’s going digital, becoming more inclusive, embracing its fringes like Cannabis and falling in love with itself again. The Caribbean, that’s Beyond the Beach.”
Ingrid is A big believer in #DigitalCaribbean and its limitless possibilities for the Region and has been featured in a SiliconValley TEDx Talk given by Futurist Gary Whitehill.
She has advised Government Ministers, Universities and Development agencies on digital trends, tech startups, innovation programmes, and startup ecosystems. She also served as Board Chairman of StartupJamaica; she has advised two Jamaican Minister of Science, Energy, and Technology via the National ICT Advisory Council and has been an SXSW Startup Accelerator Event Board Member.
She is the co-founder of Caribbean Women in Tech - an iniative that’s building a community of professionals and entrepreneurs who are in tech and the digital economy - and is committed to raising visibility and changing the face of technology and business in the Caribbean and Diaspora.
Ingrid is also Deputy Chair of the Development Bank of Jamaica's Mentorship Council for their Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programme.
